Hi Victoria,  I am totally psyched with your new Waist Cincher and I love the feeling. My body feels so supported and strong. I am glad. I didn’t listen to all those negative magazine articles. What she was saying is, I was stuffing my belly into my girdle. She was so committed that I think it just sunk into my mind as something you do after you have babies.

I totally understand your frustration.  I had a competition, a natural bodybuilding show. I was also doing a celebrity fitness workout series for Nike and had a ton of pressure to look hot and be able to fulfill all my professional speaking and modeling obligations at the same time.

No matter what I did I just couldn’t seem to get my labs totally ripped and lower belly flat.  I was so frustrated.

I had a deadline of six weeks before I had to go onstage again in front of professional judges, family, friends and the worst critics of all, my peers who can be brutal with criticism.

It‘s amazing how your mind plays tricks on you when you compare yourself to others all the time.  Many times we don’t even see our strengths because we run around playing victim to every little thing that happens to us and that clouds our thinking.

Wow!  I can feel your frustration and I understand why you are upset. It’s almost impossible to eat anything tasty that doesn’t have sugar in it.  Practically everything that we buy to eat contains sugar!  Can you believe it?  Even if something says “fat-free”, it still contains a form of sugar called sucrose and glucose.  The reason why you crave sugar so much is because you are eating sugar!!!  I know, it sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

Fourth- Eat 3-4 small meals a day. The meals can include protein, a vegetable, and low glycemic carbohydrates. By eating healthy, staying hydrated, detoxing and doing the right exercise while practicing good posture you can look super fine.  You also must the doing the moves that give you the right shape.  Not every move does that. Some moves make you blocky, thick or stumpy looking.  But when doing good lengthening and firming moves, you can tighten and tone your lower body pretty quickly. If you train with a good well-rounded program you can be Mini Skirt ready after  a few weeks.

Alternating Reverse Lunge

 

One of the best thigh exercises that you can perform is a reverse lunge. You have probably seen many variations of the lunge. All lunge moves work. So if you have your favorite one, please do that. but I really prefer a reverse lunge. It’s like the forward lunge, strengthens your quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves but not allow your knees to extend beyond your toes. Ig you have bad knees, do not do this exercise, see your physical therapist for an alternative.

It is one of the toughest, but most effective and safest for the knees. It’s like the normal lunge, but instead of performing the exercise from a stationary standing position and then you step backward instead of forward  maintaining  correct spine alignment at all times.

Alternating Reverse Lunges

You can do it with a bar resting on your trapezius; holding dumbells or no weight at all.

  • Start in a standing position with a bar resting on your traps, a set of light to medium dumb bells in your hands or with  Your on your hips or hanging at your sides. Keep you head in alignment with your spine, your chest up, with your feet shoulder-width apart. This will be your starting position.houlders over your hips, and chest up.
  • Begin the movement by taking a step to the rear behind you, allowing your hips and knees to flex to lower your body. Your weight should transfer to the ball of the foot until your knee nearly touches the ground or to a level that feels safe for you. hold it one count then press off the floor with that foot and return to starting position. When moving, always use slow and controlled movement, paying close attention to proper mechanics and posture. The knee should stay in line with the foot, contract your core muscles to help with balance, endurance, alignment, and control. Do not lean forward or backward, keep your shoulders over your hips.
  • After holding for one to two counts, return to the starting position by driving through the heel of the front leg to extend the knees and hips.

This movement can be done completely on one side before switching or can be performed in an alternating fashion.

 Lunge Training Frequency: Do 20 repetitions of this exercise per set on each side. Repeat until you’ve completed 3 sets.

I know what you mean; coming up on the holidays are real stressful and it’s one of the busiest times of the year. We are all busy, busy, busy!! Running around from place to place constantly, exhausted, low on energy, fatigued, eating on the run and devouring caffeine, sugar and carbs like long distance marathon runners. The only problem is that we are not burning those thousands of calories of sugar per day like they do. Ours is literally killing us; messing up our digestion, hormones, and of course our body shape, size and overall health. We have to look at totally different if we want to burn fat faster.

First of all, what you are experiencing in your appetite is instinctual, physical and spiritual.

As we move into wintertime, you will start to find yourself longing for rich hearty feel good foods, more carbohydrates, and more downtime. These cravings are your body’s natural way of adapting to the changes in the season. Our bodies were designed to adapt to the weather, seasons and environmental conditions. As the weather cools down, you have a natural desire to eat warm foods as opposed to cold salads and fresh fruit, you want more bread, stuffing, carbohydrate-rich foods and sweet desserts.

The colder weather, darker evenings and end of the summer season are indicators that it is the time to turn inward. Our bodies have a tendency to want to slow down and hibernate in the winter. According to John Robinson, a time expert, and professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, we have more free time than we think. The best way to find out where your time is going is to keep a journal of all of your activities for a week then analyze it. Be honest, we all have places where we can take out unnecessary errands, conversations, TV watching, searching for misplaced items, etc. When I first did this exercise I found that I was spending a lot of time talking to people to help them solve their problems or talk through things that did not involve me. I found myself mentally exhausted at the end of the day. I definitely needed to redirect my emotional and physical energy so that I could take better care of myself.

Ink it -Analyze it and then… Change It

All analysis takes a little bit of time at first, bur once you know the patterns, you can change it and have MORE time in the end! Take one day of your life and write down every single activity from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep. Don’t cheat. Be honest with yourself so that you can get a true measurement of where your time is being wasted, spent or invested well. Time is like money. You can use it wisely and become rich or you can waste it frivolously and end up broke!

Your time analysis journal will reveal your true activity quotient. If you are not spending at least 60 minutes doing something that brings you closer to your goal every single day, you need to change your activities and then redirect your energy so that you can achieve your goals.

You can only manage what you measure. As an example, when I was overweight, I would spend at least 30 minutes a day reading magazines that were food related including collecting high fat dessert recipes. I was so consumed with eating and fatty foods that it took up most of the time that I could have been using to reduce fat, yet I was spending over 7 hours per week energizing my downfall.
