2 sets of 12 repetitions per exercise with a weight that gets moderately difficult at the 8th rep

    3. Leg Abductors
    4. Leg Adductor
  • Lat Pulldown
    Seated Lat Row
  • Tricep Pressdown
    Bicep Curls
  • Abdominal Machine 3 sets of 15 Repetitions

If you follow the suggestions above while keeping your cardio going five times per week you will keep your body tight and lean. In the morning, I start my day with my fat-burning detox skinny tea. You can’t please everyone. Most importantly, you shouldn’t even try. DO what you know is right. Take care of yourself and cheer yourself on. Let your bathroom mirror and your new favorite smaller jeans be your cheerleader. Encourage yourself, motivate yourself. Be the absolute best you can be. Your true friends will be there for you and your user friends will be haters and fade away and try to guilt or talk you out of getting a hot body!

Another way to firm up your body and lose excess body fat is by doing body shaping. Guys generally don’t have a cellulite problem like women, but they do struggle with belly fat. If you are overweight, larger than you want to be, and have cellulite, sometimes it feels impossible to lose weight and get rid of the lumps and bumps cellulite creates. Getting rid of cellulite cannot only reshape your body, but can create a more firm, toned, energetic, and fat-free body! Cellulite is formed when fat cells become isolated from blood and lymphatic circulation and takes a boat-load of exercise, dieting and sometimes even surgery before it can be eliminated from your body.

  • Tape Measure. Measure before and after to help assure you are doing it correctly.
  • Extreme Slimming Gel or other solution you plan to use. Lightweight cotton garments to wear while you are wrapped. Do not cover your head while you are wrapped, it could cause you to over heat. You can wear clothing with your wrap, but do not wear anything that could hinder your ability to move. Do exceed an hour of being HOT! Make sure if you wear it long term (overnight), you don’t cover your entire body all at once. If you decide to wear a wrap overnight, just do one body part and make sure you are comfortable, can breathe and have water so you can stay hydrated.
  • WARNING: But do not do this in a sauna longer than the standard 15-minute warning on most saunas.

  • Prepare and have available, lemon water or other Low Glycemic Fruit Infused Water For Drinking. Take 2 lemons and cut up and put into a gallon of filtered or distilled water. Add stevia if you need some sweetness
  • Drink before, during and after your wrap to help facilitate the detox and continue releasing excess toxins. Plus this helps to rehydrate skin so that it won’t get wrinkly and creepy.

Rest – Relax and Chill. Once you are wrapped, do not over exert yourself with activities that could cause you to overheat. Put on some music that makes you feel good. Your mental state is vital to help you stay calm and allow the wrap to work. Body Shaping. I like to have my clients do periodic isometric exercises where the body is wrapped. They are committed to getting a tighter waist or sculpted looking body parts. Shape, Firm, Tone!

Here is another wonderful DIY regime my models rave about! It is great to eliminate excess body fat not only on your thighs but also on your buttocks and waist. I use waist trainers to slim my waist and so do my celeb A-List clients. Its wonderful to know that you can shape your body even if you can’t workout.

Here is the Anti Cellulite Regime I use and many of the most elite body fitness models do the following to get an amazing body:

  1. They use some sort of anti-cellulite cream to work on reducing dimples, firming skin and reducing puffiness. (You can use my cream.)
  2. When I compete, I wear a body shaper, waist trainer or cincher just like the tiny waisted Columbians with the perfect hourglass bodies. To get this body, I wear my shaper.
  3. They use Retinol and Matrixyl to make and keep their skin even toned, firm, wrinkle free, smooth and totally glowing, its better than the ones the models use.
  4. They take Fat Burners to Suppress their appetite, raise metabolism, and increase energy and block fat from returning.

6. You Have To See It To Be It! Visualize Your Success

You have to see it in order to be it! Visualizing your goals is the #1 master success technique and ultilized by of the greats like Michael Phelps and Gabby Douglas, and Tony Robins just to name a few. Here is how it is done…

I did a book tour with Jack Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series. It was an amazing time in my life.  I remember sharing with him in conversation one of the things we had in common, which was using visualization techniques, to accomplish our goals in life. He used visualization to get his series published, and I have used it in every endeavor in order to secure success.

It is a practice we teach our athletes when I am conducting trainings with Nike and when I am training Olympic athletes. There are numerous studies that concur that mind sees in pictures. It’s how your brain wants to solve your problems.

Using visualization techniques to focus on your goals and desires accomplishes four very important things.

1.) It activates your creative subconscious, which will start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.

2.) It programs your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.

3.) It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to achieve your goals.

4.) It builds your internal motivation to take the necessary actions to achieve your dreams.

Here are the steps I use every day to ensure I am in mental alignment with my dreams, goals, and aspirations:

  1. I chose a picture of my goal.
  2. I make myself comfortable by finding a quiet space and focus on my breathing. I relax.
  3. I see the image of success I desire and allow my mind to wander with the image. I do a quick mind-movie of my goal from start to finish. It’s important to hold this image and heightened feeling for at least 20 seconds, but 10-15 minutes is ideal. In a pinch, 60-seconds will work great too!
  4. I take time to see myself ALREADY having accomplished my goal.
  5. I do this every day.
  6. I don’t worry about the HOW. I often don’t know how I will accomplish my goal. That’s okay. I don’t have to know-how. I just see myself experiencing what it will feel like, and how my goal will impact my life and the lives of others.
  7. I take inspired action. This is the action I think will help me reach my goals. The more you take time to visualize; you will find that the answers and opportunities come to you. It’s fun and amazing at the same time.

Now It’s Your Turn! Choose a mental image of yourself achieving your goal. Hold this image in your mind’s eye as you go through your daily visualization process. How will it feel to be at your goal of having your best body back? Capture a visual of your celebration of having a body free of excess fat, with tons of energy and focus and in the best shape of your life! Visualize daily.

After you become skilled at visualization you will be able to do it anywhere, but in the beginning, a quiet space is a must.  Visualization releases any ‘hidden’ resistance you may have that will sabotage you and allows the brain to do its job and make you happy. So, what have you got to lose? Use these simple steps to incorporate visualization into your daily routine for 30-60 days and see what happens!

I want to make sure that when I do have time to workout, that I do the right workout. I have a gorgeous party dress I bought and I don’t have time to lose a bunch of weight. I want to know what to do to look and feel sexy for my husband when he sees me in it. – Basilia

 

ANSWER: Hey Basilia,

I know what you mean; coming up on the holidays are real stressful and it’s one of the busiest times of the year. We are all busy, busy, busy!! Running around from place to place constantly, exhausted, low on energy, fatigued, eating on the run and devouring caffeine, sugar and carbs like long distance marathon runners. The only problem is that we are not burning those thousands of calories of sugar per day like they do. Ours is literally killing us; messing up our digestion, hormones, and of course our body shape, size and overall health. We have to look at totally different if we want to burn fat faster.

Why We Do The Things We Do

First of all, what you are experiencing in your appetite is instinctual, physical and spiritual.

As we move into wintertime, you will start to find yourself longing for rich hearty feel good foods, more carbohydrates, and more downtime. These cravings are your body’s natural way of adapting to the changes in the season. Our bodies were designed to adapt to the weather, seasons and environmental conditions. As the weather cools down, you have a natural desire to eat warm foods as opposed to cold salads and fresh fruit, you want more bread, stuffing, carbohydrate-rich foods and sweet desserts.

The colder weather, darker evenings and end of the summer season are indicators that it is the time to turn inward. Our bodies have a tendency to want to slow down and hibernate in the winter. But we typically do the exact opposite. Instead of slowing down and replenishing our energy, we usually end up burning the candle at both ends.

SO you see, our appetite and desire for comfort are programmed in us. That is part of the reason why it is so hard sometimes to lose weight in the winter and especially around the holidays as food is connected to our social life.

During holidays you not only want to eat more, you have a desire for more love, deeper more meaningful relationships and you want to be involved in fun family gatherings more often. That satisfies your soul and sense of belonging. But on the other hand it usually brings with it a longer “to do list”! That can leave you overwhelmed, underappreciated and taxed to the limit. So then you eat whatever is in front of you and that can be a disaster on your waistline, hips, thighs and upper body.

During these busy times, it is even more important that you get organized, create a life schedule that allows you to make time to workout, move more, dance, play, sing and train your body in fun ways. You know that the right exercise can make you feel better, improve your shape, give you more energy to burn fat faster and incinerate stored fat cells and extra calories.

According to John Robinson, a time expert, and professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, we have more free time than we think. The best way to find out where your time is going is to keep a journal of all of your activities for a week then analyze it. Be honest, we all have places where we can take out unnecessary errands, conversations, TV watching, searching for misplaced items, etc. When I first did this exercise I found that I was spending a lot of time talking to people to help them solve their problems or talk through things that did not involve me. I found myself mentally exhausted at the end of the day. I definitely needed to redirect my emotional and physical energy so that I could take better care of myself.

Ink it -Analyze it and then… Change It

All analysis takes a little bit of time at first, bur once you know the patterns, you can change it and have MORE time in the end! Take one day of your life and write down every single activity from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep. Don’t cheat. Be honest with yourself so that you can get a true measurement of where your time is being wasted, spent or invested well. Time is like money. You can use it wisely and become rich or you can waste it frivolously and end up broke!

Your time analysis journal will reveal your true activity quotient. If you are not spending at least 60 minutes doing something that brings you closer to your goal every single day, you need to change your activities and then redirect your energy so that you can achieve your goals.

You can only manage what you measure. As an example, when I was overweight, I would spend at least 30 minutes a day reading magazines that were food related including collecting high fat dessert recipes. I was so consumed with eating and fatty foods that it took up most of the time that I could have been using to reduce fat, yet I was spending over 7 hours per week energizing my downfall.

When I spent my time thinking about food, food, and more food. That’s exactly what I did… EXPAND!!! I kept getting bigger and bigger. I told myself I didn’t have the time to work on myself; I was too busy working on everyone else. I thought it took too much time to shop healthy, eat right and prepare healthy food. Boy was I wrong, it actually takes more time to be sick, goes to the doctor, miss work and workouts!

I know what you really mean when you said: “I just don’t have the time!” How much TV did you watch last week and how long did it take you to eat that muffin, pastry or low nutrition white bread sandwich?  It takes the same amount of time to order a healthy lunch without mayonnaise or cheese and No Chips or Fries Please!

Can you get up 30 minutes earlier to work out? How about go to bed thirty minutes earlier so that you can get more sleep? How about power walking on your lunch hour? How about doing a mini non-sweaty yoga workout at lunch. Dress comfortably so that you can toss a big beach towel or a mat on the floor and spend 10 minutes doing something that energizes you and helps you have less back pain.

Testosterone, also called “T”, is the most potent of Male Androgens and is really what makes a man masculine, be able to grow a beard, have a deep voice, lift heavy objects, be highly sexual and have a great muscular body.

Having healthy levels of Testosterone helps to lower high risk of health problems like heart attacks or High Blood pressure.

This is a brief tutorial about your biochemistry. It is an overview of the major hormone you want to learn about, know and monitor. That hormone is called testosterone.

Testosterone is a hormone that is responsible for expressing masculine attributes in an individual. To be concise, testosterone is a male hormone. This hormone is present in both male and female, but I think it goes beyond saying that women have this hormone in a very miniscule amount in their bodies, whereas men have testosterone in larger quantities.

However, every male and female needs to have a certain amount of testosterone in his or her system to be biochemically balanced and metabolically sound.  The body balances the amount of testosterone and estrogen inside the body, and if either of the two crosses its limit, the system can drive that individual to express atypical gender behavior. Hey don’t get mad at me, this is just medical information that we all had to learn in our athletic training courses.

How do you find out your levels?  You need to get tested  and seek expert advice on Testosterone or to find out what works best for you.

Many things can effect your biochemical hormone levels. They change with time and from stress, physical exertion, bad diet, pharmaceutical drugs, high estrogen foods and a pollution.

It’s fine to stop water retention at home that is minor. Yet if water retention seems major, occurs all the time, and is continually resulting in puffy extremities or excessive weight gain, this can indicate serious health issues. If you suffer more than a little water retention, you should not try to stop water retention at home but should see your naturopath or healthy fit doctor for a thorough checkup.

Here are some great ideas to help stop water retention and reduce bloating and puffiness. Make sure you check with your lean healthy doctor before taking any of the supplements below. They may not be what your body needs.

1. Drink More Water – Water retention is common when you are dehydrated or low on water. The body tends toward conserving water, and will retain a bit in order to keep you hydrated. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day helps shed extra water, reducing water retention.

2. Reduce Sodium – Minimizing extra sodium in the diet is crucial. That’s a part of what happened to my beach workout crisis case. She macked out on salty pretzels drank soda and did it while she was flying. She did a triple whammy to her body before a photo shoot. Of course she had to fly, but she should have drank water and bought an apple or orange at the airport to have as her snack while she was flying.

Almost all packaged and canned foods contain some level of sodium. Most natural food sources also have some sodium too, though the amount is usually less. Look for low sodium varieties of foods, especially canned foods and prepared meals.

3. Move – Increase Circulation. Walking, bicycling, stationary biking, tennis are all activities that help pump out water and other fluids that can pool in your legs and ankles. Doing cardio type exercises with lightweight training will make you sweat and release trapped salt.

 4. Sip herbal tea. Parsley or uva-ursi tea can help flush out excess water without any harmful side affects, you can find these teas in most health foods stores.

5. Take Vitamin B6. Taking up to 250 milligrams of vitamin B6 daily helps reduce premenstrual water retention. This nutrient also reduces fluid buildup caused by hormone replacement therapy.

 6. Take Calcium. Researchers at the New York Metropolitan Hospital found that a daily calcium supplement provided relief from premenstrual water retention in three-fourths of the women who took it. If it’s safe for you, take 500-milligrams twice daily, one at breakfast and one at dinner. Ask your doctor whether these supplements are okay for you.

7. Increase Urine Formation – That’s right, Go more! You can release it or retain it. Foods such as cucumbers, asparagus and parsley contain natural substances that increase urine formation. Other vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, cabbage and mushrooms can facilitate water loss in conjunction with a low-carb good glycemic diet.

They require large amounts of water for digestion which helps pull it out from beneath the skin and into the digestive track. Plus they are high in fiber, which is healthy to keep your colon clear. A healthy clear colon will help flatten your belly and get rid of that belly puffiness.

Try these ideas out and experiment with them until you find your perfect formula for getting rid of that awful feeling excess water, bloating and puffiness. Shop around and look for the best prices so that you can continue to eat healthy and improve your modeling potential.

 Finally- If none of these work and if you are on medications go visit your doctor and give your her or him a list of all medications you are currently taking–both prescription and over-the-counter–and ask whether any alterations are appropriate. Switching to lower-dose estrogen in your hormone replacement therapy, for example, could reduce fluid retention. If you’re on steroidal medication, be sure to let your doctor know about your water-retention problems. She or he may prescribe a diuretic.

Belly Fat and Jean Hangover Has To GO!

There is nothing worse than putting on a pair of jeans and your stomach stuff spills over the front and sides.

The holidays are over and if you want to Quick Start the process of dropping some of that spillage, try the two simple tips I offer later below.

I am telling you this straight up!  Even when I travel, I have to be totally strict with my water.  I can reduce my liquid intake for a couple of days and I get bloated and puffy. If I sneak a few chips or some sweet dessert, I can totally see the difference in my abs in a couple of days.

And….if you are carb sensitive like me and some of my clients, it happens so fast! I get pissed over nothing and I get emotional highs and lows for no apparent reason.

FOOD IS A DRUG! It really does affect how you feel instantly.

I want you to feel as powerful as you can all the time. Life can be a challenge and if you aren’t fueled properly, you could lose it over nothing and get off track in so many areas.

We have all come too far to look back, think back and definitely NO GOING BACK! AAHHH I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

OKAY, here are the tips to put on your fridge or mirror!

Drink Lots of Water.
You’ve probably already heard many times that you need to drink lots of water in order to lose weight, but that’s just because it really works!

Make a New Habit!

YES, Get into the habit of drinking 8-10 large glasses of water per day. You’ll have much more energy, you’ll be able to control your hunger better, you’ll boost your metabolism, and you’ll start to shed your belly fat faster.

If you don’t like plain water try seltzer or mineral water with some lime or lemon juice. Green tea – no sugar- is also a great choice and may even speed up the fat loss process more — especially if you drink it before workouts — due to its high levels of certain fat-burning chemicals.

Remember to switch it up with decaf or non caffeinated herbal tea. Too much caffeine and you get jittery, irritable, anxiety, stressed and an emotional wreck.

Eat More Lean Protein.
When it comes to losing belly fat, lean protein is one of your most valuable allies. You should try to include some form of lean protein in each and every meal you eat.

Protein is good for controlling your appetite. Besides making you feel full and reducing cravings, eating protein helps to speed up the metabolism while simultaneously keeping blood sugar and insulin levels in check (very important when trying to reduce body fat).

The best benefit of protein is that it is necessary to build and maintain muscle mass, the key to a greater metabolism The more muscle you have the more calories you burn training and that makes it even easier to lose weight.

Good protein sources for weight loss are: lean beef, chicken, turkey, fish, nuts, seeds, and whey protein powder.

Don’t starve, just eat better and lose more fat!
